ROWELL  GENETIC  TEST  RESULTS 
   

Haplogroups are determined either by predictions made by FTDNA based on reported Y-DNA test results or as specifically confirmed by an SNP test.  Observations of 1,000s of test results now indicate that some Markers change or mutate at a faster rate than others.  While the actual faster rate has not as yet been definitively calculated, not all markers should be treated the same for evaluation purposes.   The DYS Markers displayed in RED have shown a faster mutation rate then the average; therefore, these markers are sometimes very helpful at splitting lineages into sub sets, or branches within the family tree.

Notes:  Test results for all participants are currently compared against the Modal for Lines #1 & #2 in the chart above.

1)   The participants represented by Kits #N59200 and #039975 (lines #1 and #2) are an exact match at the 12 marker level, indicating a high likely hood of a common direct male ancestor.  More markers for Kit #N59290 are needed to establish certainty and to establish the common Rowell ancestor.

2)   Kit #129181 (line 5) has not been returned for processing.

3)  The participants in the Rowell DNA Project listed above represented by Kits #N59290 and #039975 (lines #1 and 2) are not related to the participants represented by Kits #112876, N55368 or 152002; i.e., they do not share a common direct male ancestor.   Allele values shown in blue highlighted for participants #8 , #11 and #13 are mutations compared to the Y-DNA profile (Haplotype) for participants #1 and #2.

4)   To be descendants of a common direct ancestor, no more than 1 mutation would be expected when comparing the alleles for the first 12 markers.

5)  Genealogies for participants represented by Kits #N59290,  #129181, and 152002 are currently unknown.

6)  Test results for Kit #152002 (Morrison) do not match any of the other Rowell Project participant's results so far.
