by predictions made by FTDNA based on reported Y-DNA
test results or as specifically confirmed by an SNP
test. Observations of 1,000s of test results now
indicate that some Markers change or mutate at a faster
rate than others. While the actual faster rate has
not as yet been definitively calculated, not all markers
should be treated the same for evaluation purposes.
The DYS Markers displayed in RED
have shown a faster mutation rate then the
average; therefore, these markers are sometimes very
helpful at splitting lineages into sub sets, or branches

Q1a3a is American Indian (Native
American)
Notes:
1) The test results for Kit #109669 (Line #7) do not match the
test results for the kits that represent the Hersey line for
Wiregrass Georgia (American Indian) (Lines 1, 5 & 6). This indicates a
break in the Hersey line for Kit #109669.
2) The modal Haplotype for the New England / England Hersey
line and the Pennsylvania / France Hersey line are both
in Haplogroup R1b1b2, but fail to be a match (match
only 7 of 12) at the 12 marker level, indicating there is no common
ancestor for these two lines.
3) Participant #11 (FTDNA Kit #130785) was also tested by
African Ancestors (for just 8 markers). The FTDNA and
AA (African Ancestors) results for the eight markers tested are identical (this is a good thing).
However, no match currently exists for the
Hersey progenitor of Kit #130785, who has been established as being from
Tennessee. A comparison of Kit #130785
versus the Modal Haplotype for the other Hersey Progenitors shows a significant
mismatch (GDs of > 10).
4) Participant #13 (FTDNA Kit #N73267) is not a match with any of
the other Hersey Project participants (no closer than GD=6
at 12 markers.
